Gatherings (Transitory Encounters) took place over three nights and was produced as part of the exhibition Trapezium. Trapezium included work by Orla Whelan, Sinead O’ Reily and Janine Davidson. A psychic sleep session inaugurated Gatherings, (Transitory Encounters). For the second event, The Materialization of the Phantom Muse, Dr. John Cussans conducted a séance with the feminist writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman. This was followed by musical performance by Neil McAvinia and his band VooDoo Wray. A public screening of The Great Ecstasy of the Woodcarver Steiner, (1974) directed by Werner Herzog marked the final event.
The 17m x 7m handmade mat used in Gatherings (Transitory Encounters) remained in the space for the duration of the exhibition.
